I am Pablo Varela Álvarez of 6ºA.

My favourite month is OctoBer because: it is my birthday, the month of ''magosto''and HA LLOWEEN.

Halloween is celebrated on 31st of October in Britain, Ireland and America.

It is got spooky symbols: skeletons, witches, vampires, bats, black cats, ghosts, zombies...

The costumes are: dressing up, going to parties, trick or treating, sweets, games, carving pumpkins, telling ghost stories, watching horror films...

The typical food is: sweets , toffee apples, ...

Today in class we were playing very funny games: apple bobbing, pass the bat, mummies, light a sparkle, ... It was very funny!

HALLOWEEN

Halloween is a celebration of the Anglo-Saxon culture that is celebrated on the night of October 31st.
Its origin is Celtic,when the Celtic year ended in late summer, on 31st October in our calendar
(Samhain).
This day the deads go out of the tombs and they ask for food and drink.
The Celtics decorated their houses with skeletons, skulls, bones...to scare the deads.

This party is celebrated on October , 31st. People disguise and go out and then they try to scare other people.

I like halloween because it´s very funny and we can scare our friends with original and chilling disguises. My favourite disguises are vampire and zombie.

In England and in the USA this party is very popular and a lot of people celebrate it.

There are a lot of legends of Halloween ( “Jack o´ Lantern “ ).

At Halloween people eat toffee apples and sweets that they ask for them on houses at night .
There are lots of costumes:

Make a pumpkin and put and a candle into their, go to the houses and make a trick or a treat, see a movie of terror , narrate fear histories,
go to parties.

Here , in Spain , this party is very popular in the last years, but before this we only knew it by the cinema. The most important thing is that we can scare ones anothers and have a really good Halloween party with our friends.

My school´s name is Emilia Pardo Bazan and its name cames from a famous writer. She was born in A Coruña in 1851.





My school is more than 25 years old. It has got two buildings. One of them is blue for Infants and the other one red for Primary.

In my school there are more than six hundred pupils and more than twenty teachers.

All pupils and teachers celebrate the autumn eating chesnuts and the carnival with a fancy dress party and eating typical foods.

Teachers take pupils to museums, theatres, concerts...

Christopher Columbus was a navigator who was born in Napoles and lived in Spain part of his life. He discovered America on October 12, 1492.
That´s why we celebrate Columbus Day or Día de la Hispanidad on the 12th of October.

Columbus Day

Columbus Day or Día de la Hispanidad is a holiday. We celebrate it on October 12th to conmemorate that in 1492 Cristobal Colon discovered a new continent. That made us know new lands, people and customs.

Autumn

Hello, I´m Alberto and I will write this article about the autumn, that is my favourite season.

It begins with the autumn equinox, on the 22nd or the 23rd of September, and ends with the winter solstice, on the 21st of December.

In autumn there are many fruits, like grapes, pomegranates, figs, walnuts, hazelnuts, chestnuts, almonds, acorns, pumpkins, raspberries, blueberries, cranberries, apricots, pears..., and plants, like mushrooms, and animals, like hedgehogs, squirrels... In the autumn, the leaves of some trees change and its green colour becomes yellow, brown and orange, until they dry and fall, helped for the wind blowing with great force. In this season the cool temperatures and bad weather start: rain, clouds and wind. that´s in autumn we have to wear clothes more appropiate for this season: long trousers, t-shirts wihyth long sleeves, boots, jackets, umbrellas...

What I like about autumn is Halloween, Magosto, the Advent (with the Christmas gift list), play in the leaves... But I don´t like the back to school, the bad weather, homework, tests...
