In this month Peruvians celebrate Christmas as the birth of Jesus. In the Peruvian Christmas the family reunite in a Christmas Eve dinner with very typical meals of this date. The traditional Peruvian home decoration is the Nativity scene and the Christmas tree. The crib is a tradition of many centuries , the original idea is credited to ST. Francisco de Asis. The Nativity sets consist of a rustic cottage inn where Jesus was born, and he is with his parents (Mary and Joseph). They are accompanied by a number of animals and the Magi. Some births are small and others large occupying most of a room at home where are built. The normal thing is to use wallpaper, now sells for sheets, and make them small hills or mountains and garnish with the animals.
