The Egyptians

The Egyptians lived near the Nile.

The pharaoh was the most important person. There were 3 groups of people:

-The rich: nobles, priests, scribes, ...

-Freemen: artisans, farmers, ...

-Slaves.



The rich lived in palaces or in big houses.

The poor lived in small houses made of mud.



They ate fruit, meat vegetables and fish. They drank beer. They made bread. 

Boys went to school but girls didn´t. They wrote on paper (papyrus). 

They made big pyramids. 

They had birds and monkey and pets. They loved cats.

Men wore kilts and women wore dresses. Both loved jewellery and makeup.
